Saline intrusion - highly pumped conditions, freshwater

This image shows highly pumped conditions. The water level is reduced due to pumping. The saline interface has risen in response to this reduction in hydrostatic pressure.

Pumping has been sufficiently intensive to bring the saline interface into the deepest
observation borehole, but insufficiently to bring the interface into the pumped borehole.

Freshwater is still being pumped from the borehole.
