Monitoring - limestone, second cutout

Back

Limestone.

Some boreholes miss the plume altogether, in
which case it may go undetected. The second cutout shows the plume.

The pollution is largely transmitted via the fractures in the rock so that even monitoring
boreholes that are apparently within the plume will fail to detect the pollution if they do not intersect a polluted fracture.
